Technology has affected society and its surroundings in a number of ways, I thought it could be awesome to write a post about my school, studies, faculty, and the disciplines.

I am Dayo, Dayo Nurudeen, one of the students of  Silesian University of Technology which has a history of 63+ years.  Silesian University of Technology is the biggest technical university in its region and one of the biggest in Poland, currently educating about 30 000+ students on 12 Faculties in 48 engineering disciplines. It provides graduates of engineering who are ready to work as managers of any Silesian industry and of enterprises far beyond Silesia region. As an organization with big research and teaching potential it exert a stimulating impact on the growth of Silesia and Zagłębie and significantly contribute to the creation of the economy based on knowledge management.

In the Faculty of AEC (Automatics and Robotics, Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science), students gets to choose a special discipline after completing their fifth semester.  A student can neither choose two nor three but only one faculty. This tough period of choosing who you want to be, what you want to do with your next years, and what you would love to learn about and experiment with in your nearest future, mostly happens within the ending of the fifth semester and the beginning of the sixth semester. This period is infact a tough one because a student cannot afford to make a terrible mistake by choosing the wrong discipline.

In this same period, the head of each departments will make a presentation that describes and narrate what the department has to offer its students, the importance of the department in the economy, and what the students can benefit from the department after completion of the course. The purpose of the presentation is to enlighten students about the department, what it takes,  and why they should be one of their students. If the presentation is well prepared and well presented, then he might be able to win some students over to his department but if not vice versa.

The Faculty employs more or less 39 professors and associate professors, over 200  assistant professors, assistants and lecturers. The Faculty collaborates with companies operating in different fields of industry.

The Faculty carries out research  into automation, robotics, biotechnology, system analysis, signal conversion, analysis, synthesis and system design, electronics and telecommunication systems, microelectronic technologies, digital signal conversion, theoretical and applied computer science, software, databases, design and construction of  computer equipment, basis and techniques of  creating computer networks.

The Importance Of Automatics and Robotics

Brief Introduction:

Robotics is the science and technology of the design, manufacture and application of robots in various applications, including space exploration, surgery, and everyday living.

Before a student can enter the robotics industry he or she requires an education in Engineering, Computer Programming, or design. Robotics is related to electronics, mechanics, and software. The word robot was introduced to the public by Czech writer Karel Čapek in his play R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots), published in 1920 and the first recorded use of the term “Robot” was by Isaac Asimov in his 1941 science fiction short-story “Liar”. Fully autonomous machines only appeared in the 20th century. The first digitally operated and programmable robot, the “Unimate”, was installed in 1961 to lift hot pieces of metal from a die casting machine and stack them.

The Importance of a degree in Robotics

Being a Robotics Engineer sounds like a high-tech job–and it is. If working with computers and mechanics sounds engaging, then pursuing this career might be right for you. Having skills in science and math doesn’t hurt either.

Robotics engineers have traditionally worked on developing applications for automated production in manufacturing, but the field of robotics technology is now expanding into nuclear power, agriculture and mining. Robotics engineers are now drawn to this field to explore the possibilities of autonomous robots that collect data in space, perform household tasks or even provide emotional support. No More Failure For Students.

Cheating is an act of lying, deception, fraud, trickery, imposture, or imposition. Cheating characteristically is employed to create an unfair advantage, usually in one’s own interest, and often at the expense of others.^[1]Cheating implies the breaking of rules. by Wiki.

to cut the stories short he gave me some guidelines to cheating that has never failed him on most theoretical exams so I decided to share it with my faithful readers.

How to cheat on theoretical part of electronics exam

Here are the 9 steps to good grades he told me about,

1. He went through the past questions from previous years like 5, 4, 3, 2, and last year,
2. Check out the questions that were repeated each year,
3. Check the questions that appeared twice ( on the first and second attempt or more),
4. Reduce the whole past years questions to like 15 or less set of different questions,
5. Since there is a 90% chance that your teachers wont have time to set new questions or they would just change the sentence, Write down the answers to the 15 questions on separate sheet of papers with your name on each.
6. On the exam day, after your teacher tell or give you the questions which would probably be 6 theoretical questions or less, you have 30 seconds to check your bag and pretend to be looking for a pen or something without any Interrogation from your invigilator, so all you got to do is to check your cheat papers that you ordered in your bag alphabetically and pick the correct cheat papers that has the answers already written by you to the questions from your teacher.
7. Swipe it, and hide it as secured as possible, then pretend to be messing with the questions by writing some dumb stuffs on another blank paper,
8. When the time is up, submit the cheat papers.
9. Remember to change few sentences.

Remember cheating is wrong and illegal, if you get caught cheating on exam it might cost you much much more than you think. I spent four days learning for the same exam but he spent his 5 days writing the cheat papers, we both made it anyway. Better if you learn how to cheat before exam in combination with how to make your teacher pass you or how to make your teacher increase your grade other than learning how to cheat during the exam. Feel free to share how you pass yours.

2. Do you think you deserve more than what he gave you?.
3. Do you feel cheated-upon?.
4. Do you want to fight for a better grade?.
5. Is he a gentle man?.
6. Perhaps you feel like kicking your teachers as*.
7. I hope your answers are YES, if not please don’t read on.

Don’t kick his as*. Bellow are the steps you need to follow to make him increase that grade.

There are few things we have to consider;

A: Answers will be checked immediately after the test, which means all students will know their grades few minutes after the test.

B: Answers will be checked few days after the test which means the results wont be posted online or offline same day.

The best situation is always situation A:

I think situation A is best because you probably would have more time to argue with your teacher and that means you would have more chances to win the argument.

1. Just let your classmates leave the room before attacking your teacher politely about the result of your test.
2. Tell him Mr/Mrs…../Sir/Madam I am sorry but I think I should get something higher than this. That should be your first sentence or something much better than that like; Sir you gave me an under-grade which I am not satisfied with.

Ok am gonna use my situation as an example, here is what happened: Once upon a time, I wrote a test and got a good grade not that poor but I felt cheated upon because I spent so much time, I mean I spent quality time trying to understand the instructions/materials. The test had 4 questions and I was able to answered 3 1/5 questions correctly, so what the heck. It was a situation A, so I followed the approach above. Although it was not easy because that teacher was not so gentle and he didn’t want to increase my grade because he felt he gave me what I deserved but I didn’t think I deserved that. He invited me to his office and asked me few more questions about the topic which I was able to answered correctly because I was very prepared for the test but still he was not satisfied and he gave me an extra homework to solve and bring it to him during his next office hour. Here is what I did then, the homework he gave me was quite different from the topic I was taught and little bit harder than the test I wrote, so I used a trick which was to take the homework to another teacher to solve them for me then take it back to this difficult teacher for a better grade and it worked perfectly. Fire for Fire.

Situation B

For situation B all you have to do is go home and relax, but be aware of your teacher’s consultation period. Go to him during his consultation period but make sure you are the first person to consult him, I mean be at the front of his office 15 minutes before his consultation period starts because you will need few minutes to catch your breath and to prepare yourself for the last time before the attack.

1. Knock on his door twice.
2. Greet him
3. Ask him if you can come in
4. If yes then, then start your conversation right away on your feet.
5. Sir I believe you gave me an under-grade.

Preparation Guide

1. You have to be sure you have more than an average knowledge of what you were thought.
2. Give him few effective/good reasons why you deserve a better grade.
3. Make sure you already know your mistakes and ready to make a correction.
4. Take with you any material, textbook, notebook that would be helpful to back your words/knowledge.
5. Prepare your argument and be ready to argue politely.
6. Be prepared to answer any side questions correctly and within a short period of time.
7. Do not forget that there is still a 30% of no changes.
8. Ask for another chance.

Ok here is my point, A friend came to my house for a “one month” visit and bellow is an example of how the visit affected my study because I was sharing my time between my study, my life, and my friend. You know boys things like parties, drinking, time wasting activities to be specific.

Perhaps I loose my concentration easily. There was a time I had to stop the wall clock in order to be able to pay 99.9% attention on what I was learning.

PS: Life is not all about learning. Too much work without play makes Dayo a dull boy. I am not advising you to ignore your friends. Nothing/Nobody can take the place of good friends.
